The severe weather poses significant risks to millions across the Central U.S. Large hail and wind gusts could damage property and infrastructure, while flash flooding may disrupt travel and threaten low-lying areas. Southeastern New Mexico and western Texas, including Ruidoso, are particularly vulnerable due to wildfire burn scars. However, the heavy rainfall may alleviate extreme drought conditions in parts of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles and other areas of the Southern and Central Plains.
